A seminar on 'Conservation of species and habitats through sustainable agriculture' was held

Mar 13, 2021
In the middle of last week, the Green Balkans team held a one-day workshop on 'Conserving species and habitats through sustainable agriculture'. The meeting was organized in partnership with AGRICULTURAL UNIVERSITY - PLOVDIV and the German foundation EuroNatur.

The meeting's focus was on conservation, non-governmental and other organizations developing agriculture and animal husbandry to protect rare and protected species and their habitats.

We are happy to note that despite its postponement by one year and the situation we are in at this moment, there was no lack of interest in the event!

A total of 15 presentations were given, some of them targeting species with high conservation statuses, such as the Lesser Kestrel and the Red-breasted Goose, the focus of the Green Balkans were - 'LIFE for Lesser Kestrel' project LIFE19 NAT/BG/001017 and 'Long-term program for the protection of the red-breasted goose'.
Representatives of the NGO sector and four universities participated - Agricultural University Plovdiv, Trakia University Stara Zagora, UNWE, and Ohio State University USA!
We are especially happy that some of the presentations were prepared and presented by students from the Trakia University, not without the help of our team, of course!
