Aleksandra Popova awarded "Blagovest Temelkov" from the Scientific conference for students and young scientists "Ecology - a way of thinking"

The honorary award "Blagovest Temelkov" from the Scientific conference for students and young scientists "Ecology - a way of thinking" 15, was awarded to Aleksandra Popova, a long-time volunteer of Green Balkans.

The scientific jury of the conference awarded the prestigious award to Alexandra for presenting a report on the topic "Can photographic material be used to study the diet of the Lesser Kestrel (Falco naumanni)?", developed together with our colleague Stilyana Yaneva, PhD student at the Department of Agroecology and Environmental Protection of the Agricultural University – Plovdiv.

We remind you that one of the activities of the project “Life for Lesser kestrel’’ LIFE19/NAT/BG/001017 carried out by Green Balkans with the support of Programme LIFE of the European Union is ‘’Nature Academy’’ - specifically aimed at working with students and young researchers interested in nature conservation.

The fifteenth conference  - "Ecology - a way of thinking" was held on 13.05.2023, as this was the 20th year anniversary of the conference - the first one had taken place in 2003. It was organized by the Department of Ecology and Environmental Protection at the Faculty of Biology of Paisiy Hilendarski University of Plovdiv and the Environmental Student Team for Creative Development and Academic Achievements, with the help and support of the "Scientific and Project Activity" division at the Paisiy Hilendarski and the Student Council of the Paisiy Hilendarski University.

The goal of the conference is to offer an opportunity for students, PhD students and young scientists to present their scientific and popular science developments with the emphasis traditionally being on the various fields of ecology, but also includes reports from all areas of biology and biology pedagogy. Green Balkans is one of the long-term partners of the conference.
