Mar 22, 2021
Last week was rich in events for the Green Balkans' 'Life for Lesser Kestrel' project LIFE19 NAT/BG/001017!

First, we were guests at a thematic exhibition on the Maritsa River, whose conceptual design is the Regional Natural History Museum - Plovdiv. The exhibition took place at the Svilengrad Art Gallery, in partnership with the Historical Museum - Svilengrad and the NGO 'Green Balkans - Stara Zagora'. It aims to show the connection of people with the Maritsa River, what are the problems we are facing at the moment and why it is worth working for the protection of the health of the river ecosystem. In front of the guests - officials from the region, media, and students, the team of Green Balkans told about the Lesser Kestrel and its activities to preserve the species in the area.

The second event, again an exhibition, took place in Plovdiv. This time the project was part of the presentation of the 'Lively Exhibition', in whose exhibits, along with the Pygmy cormorant, the Imperial eagle, the Black vulture, the Red-breasted goose, and the Sandwich tern are the Lesser Kestrels. The event was organized on the eve of two very important days for environmental protection - World Forest Day March 21 and World Water Day March 22, hosted this time by the Regional Natural History Museum of Plovdiv. The kids, visitors of the event, had the opportunity to participate in a studio for coloring Lesser Kestrel, using as a model realistic models of male and female birds, provided by Green Balkans. The models from the exhibition will remain in the museum until April 21, 2021, and can be seen as part of the Exposition.
