Meeting of the "Life for Lesser Kestrel" LIFE19 NAT/BG/001017 project partners

Nov. 22, 2021
Last week a meeting took place between the partners of the project "Life for Lesser Kestrel" LIFE19 NAT/BG/001017.
The Green Balkans team, as the coordinating beneficiary of the project, and our Greek partners from the University of Thessaly (Laboratory for Ecosystem and Biodiversity Management) took part in the meeting.

The meeting took place in Greece and was hosted by our colleagues from Body Management Authority of Evros Delta, which is one of the NATURA 2000 sites in Greece, whose object of protection includes the Lesser Kestrel.

During the talks were discussed already completed tasks and plans for work on the project - installation of artificial nests, a survey among farmers about their attitude to the Lesser Kestrel in the target areas, selection of places to release and strengthen the Lesser Kestrel population in Bulgaria and Greece, as well as other current activities.

We paid special attention to the fieldwork of the partners, as the Green Balkans team stated its readiness, based on its many years of experience, to cooperate in its implementation.
