It is a new for our Centre aviary for breeding, built within the framework of project "Life for lesser kestrel" LIFE19 NAT/BG/001017, implemented by Green Balkans with the financial support of the LIFE programme of the EU!
Prior to being moved, all 54 lesser kestrels part of the breeding flock were thoroughly examined by the team of veterinarians and their assistants - the veterinary medicine students of Trakia University!
Fortunately, the health status of all birds was satisfactory and their weight was normal.
Following the prophylactic internal and external deworming, trimming of talons, coping of beaks and examination of feathers, the birds were moved to their new home.
There, more than 35 nests, equipped with everything needed for the comfort of the birds, awaited their future inhabitants - the lesser kestrel pairs!
