Within the traditional alumni meeting of the veterinary medical school of class year 1998, part of the participants visited Wildlife rehabilitation and breeding centre - Green Balkans. With us, they got acquainted with the activities of the organization of project “Life for Lesser Kestrel” LIFE19 NAT/BG/001017, financed by Programme LIFE of the EU.
The hosts of the Wildlife centre showed their guests – veterinarians, farmers, animal breeders, representatives of livestock and agrarian business and zoo engineers from all over the country, the breeding aviary of the small falcons and birds within.
We talked in detail about the work of Green Balkans for the restoring of the species to our country, decades after its disappearance from our nature and our efforts to help its still fragile population in Bulgaria.
Since among the audience there were people from different parts of Bulgaria, directly or indirectly involved with work with animals on field, we also paid attention to providing first aid to wild animals in distress and a method in which they reach to the clinic of the Wildlife rehabilitation centre.
