This was not a single action, but part of the preparation for setting the birds free, which has been planned for the start of this year’s breeding season of the falcons – at the end of February and beginning of March.

In this regard, as we have mentioned earlier, one of the aviaries on the territory of the Centre was specially equipped, as there were installed the three types of artificial nesting houses in it, which the team of the “LIFE for Lesser kestrel” project LIFE19 NAT/BG/001017 is going to install on specially selected places, near the release area as well.

Of course, before being moved to their new homes, the birds were thoroughly examined by the veterinarians and by the veterinary students from the Trakia University as part of the “Student practices – part 2” project of the Ministry of Education and Science, funded by the “Operational Program Science and Education for Smart Growth”, and co-funded by the European Social Fund.
