The team of the “LIFE for Lesser Kestrel” project LIFE19 NAT/BG/001017 visited one of the project activity places in Sakar.
At the beginning of the year, the team from the newest project of Green Balkans – “LIFE for Lesser Kestrel” LIFE19 NAT/BG/001017 visited the Sakar mountain.

The first stop of the visit was the Centre for environmental protection activities in the Levka village near Svilengrad.
There the new members of the team learned more about the activities of Green Balkans related to the recovery of the species in Bulgaria and the great part the Centre took at the first stage of our work under the “Recovery of Lesser Kestrel” project, LIFE11 NAT/BG/360 .

We took the occasion to also have a small briefing in which we planned the future work under the project, the team’s responsibilities, and obligations, and last but not least- the presentation of each of the people who will be part of this significant initiative in the next 5 years!

The second part of the visit was on site– we passed through the favorite rest places of the Lesser Kestrel in the region of Levka, as well as any potential, new places for nesting and installing artificial platforms for the Lesser Kestrels. At the end of our journey, our team examined the rich historical and biodiversity of the region.
