Night guests at the Lesser Kestrel Centre in Levka

Apr. 05, 2022
We were curious to see who was wandering at night around the Center for Environmental Protection in the Sakar village of Levka. Where is the home of the colony of Lesser Kestrels - the first returned in decades in our country!

Therefore, we set up a camera to capture the nightlife around the colony.
After examining the footage collected by the camera, the Green Balkans "Life for Lesser Kestrel" LIFE19 NAT/BG/001017 project team, came across a curious fox, a timid badger and a suspicious hedgehog.

These animals are only part of the rich biological diversity of the Sakar Mountains region. A region that is emblematic of its preserved nature.

What else will the photo trap show us in the coming spring and summer nights - we are curious to find out. And we promise to share with you our most interesting findings!
