The Lesser Kestrel colony near Stara Zagora is buzzing with activity

...
For several days, the Lesser Kestrel colony near the Wildlife Rehabilitation and Breeding Centre - Green Balkans in Stara Zagora has been buzzing with activity!
The formed pairs are already three or four, out of a total of at least 11 observed birds in the area.
In addition to occupying nests and preparing them for the emergence of future generations, the birds are copulating intensely!
This is good news for the team of project “Life for Lesser Kestrel” LIFE19 NAT/BG/001017, within which two years ago the colony of the species was formed. It is located on the premises of the Wildlife Rehabilitation and Breeding Centre - Green Balkans in Stara Zagora. It is the second biggest colony, out of a total of three known to us in Levka, Stara Zagora and Burgas.
We remind you that the breeding season was opened by the birds from the Sakar village of Levka, which in the beginning of March formed pairs and started their 2023 breeding season.
