Today, at the Green Balkans Rescue Center, the first two Lesser Kestrels for 2022 were hatched.
The birds hatched in the incubators of the Center, within the activities of the "Life for Lesser Kestrel" LIFE19 NAT/BG/001017 project, implemented by the Green Balkans, with the support of the LIFE Program of the European Union.
The project team takes care of the little ones on a daily basis, and we expect more to hatch in the coming days.
Currently, there are 15 pairs in the aviaries of the Center, which have laid, in total, a over 70 eggs, some of which are in our incubators.
We will be happy to share with you any information about the Lesser Kestrels' breeding program, and we will be even happier when these birds fly in the skies of Bulgaria, as part of our activities to return the species to the wild in Bulgaria.
