During their visit, the children from the fourth age group of the "Hristo Botev" elementary school from Levka village in Sakar SPA got acquainted with the activities of Green Balkans conserned with the return of the lesser kestrel in the area and in our country.
We told them about our work on breeding, rearing and releasing the birds, as well as about our field activities in search of new colonies of the small falcons in the wild.
The most interesting news for the young environmentalists was the fact that precisely in their village - Levka, from the whole of the country the species was restored after decades of absence in our nature.
After the presentation in the Centre, the children also were shown the facilities and the nest boxes on the outside of the building, which have become the home of the birds.
Our team is always happy when we have the opportunity to pass on our knowledge to young people. In this endeavor, however, teachers had a leading role. We thank the teachers of our young visitors for their eagerness to work towards the environmental education of their students!
