For several days, the team of the 'Life for Lesser Kestrel' project LIFE19 NAT/BG/001017 has increased by one more member!
This is the young donkey Misha!
She will live in the Environmental Centre in Levka village, which houses the first in decades, created thanks to the efforts of Green Balkans, a Lesser Kestrels colony in our country. Like everyone in the team, Misha has a task - to be a living mower.
By grazing the grass around the Centre, she will keep the place beautiful and free of weeds, but what is even more important - she will provide better visibility of the insect-hunting kestrels.
Due to the increasing intensity of intensive agriculture in our country and the use of machinery, the role of the draft animals is disappearing, and thus only decades ago typical rural life views in our country, such as donkeys. With her presence, Misha will remind us of those past times, and for the little ones - the children, visitors of the Centre, she will be a living and very attractive exhibit!
